Melody and I went to a wedding on Orcas Island in July 2010 and took the opportunity to do a couple hikes on the island.
Ferry to Orcas
Washington State has a large ferry system, and the ships which go to the San Juan Islands are very popular. We took morning ferries in both directions to avoid the lines and delays.
Mt. Constitution
Mt. Constitution is the highest point among the San Juan Islands. We hiked from Mountain Lake to the summit, about a 7.5 mile loop with an elevation gain of around 1,400 feet.
