San Francisco, 6-Nov

This was Melody's last day of the conference, after which we went down to have dinner in Saratoga with my mom and Mr. and Mrs. Evans. While Melody was in the morning session, I took the opportunity to do one more grocery run. When she got back to the room, we got our things together and headed out the door. We started east towards the Ferry Building and stopped by a machine to add money to our Clipper cards. Having done that and doing a quick cruise through the Ferry Building, we started south along the Embarcadero, walking along the bay. We stepped into Panera (right across the street from the train station) to grab lunch and let my mom know when we were going to arrive. When it was time, we worked our way over to the station and boarded.

Mr. Evans and my mom were waiting for us as we got off the train, and we proceeded to the house. After getting my mom and Melody settled in, Mr. Evans and I headed out to pick up dinner, BBQ ribs, tri-tip, beans, and slaw. We got to the restaurant and picked everything up, and started back to the house. A few minutes later, we got a call from Mrs. Evans saying the restaurant called her to say we still needed to pick up the pie, which had been stashed away in the back. We turned around, got the pie, and started back to the house once again.

There was a lot of food, of course, but it was all tasty. After we were stuffed with dinner, Mrs. Evans sliced up the pie; it goes without saying that the servings were generous. After that, we rolled onto the train to San Francisco and called it a night.
