 Halong Bay

Surprise Cave

Surprise Cave is on Bo Hon Island in Halong Bay.

The cave entrance and exit are a little ways up the side of the island.

There are about 100 steps leading to the entrance.

After dropping off passengers, boats park in the bay and wait until they are ready to pick up.

After exiting the cave, this boardwalk goes away from the cave to an area that has several concession stands.

Ti Top Islet

The beach side of the island. A viewpoint can be seen at the top of the island.

Many of the islands seem to go straight down into the bay, so boats can get very close. You could wade off the beach, but not very far before the ocean floor got steep.

It’s about 400 steps to the viewpoint, which is roughly 350 feet up.

Other

We saw a lot of kites flying around.

The tide was a little out so we could see how the water undercut several of the islands.
