Sweet Week Seattle
Last weekend was Sweet Week Seattle, where several stores offered $5 desserts. Some of the desserts in the promotion were cookies, sundaes, and fudge. We returned from the Bay Area the day the event started, but were able to cover several places over the next couple days.
What we ended up doing is getting one dessert from each place and splitting it. We figured that way we could cover twice as many shops, and we even went to a couple places where we could take the dessert home for the next day.
We visited some places we hadn't been to before, Fresh Flours and A La Mode Pies (both on Phinney Ridge), and Sweet Mickey's, a candy shop in Ballard. We had been to Hot Cakes and Parfait Ice Cream (both in Ballard) several times before, and knew we would enjoy whatever they served. The other place we went was Theo Chocolate, since it was easy to get to Fremont from Ballard; we had never been to their store, but are very familiar with their products.
Everything we had was really good, which was no surprise. We chose the places we did because of location; Melody was going to an event on campus on Friday night, so we went to Phinney Ridge before she walked to UW, and we knew it would be relatively easy to park in Ballard and walk between a few stores.
Of course, we would have been happy to try other stores, but figure we'll be able to go there separately, and there's always next year!
